AVALANCHE
Teton Avalanche is a non-profit youth sports organization dedicated to developing student athletes through training, competition, and college recruiting exposure. Based in Jackson Hole and a member of the AAU, our club provides a platform for student athletes aspiring to play at the collegiate level, building a strong foundation of athleticism, fundamentals, and tournament experience and
offering exposure to high-academic college programs.
We believe our coaches play a pivotal role in the lives of our athletes helping them develop skills and character both on and off the court

Girls Head Coach
SALEM
WILL
Salem Will is a Registered Nurse in Jackson Hole. Originally from Glen Falls, NY, she has loved basketball since elementary school, and that passion carried through high school and college, where she was a four-year starter at both levels.
In high school, Salem was a two-time Player of the Year in the New York Foothills Conference. As a freshman point guard at Carson-Newman College (Division II), she set records for assist-to-turnover ratio and single-season assists. She transferred to Randolph-Macon College her sophomore year, where her team went undefeated, won the ODAC (Old Dominion Athletic Conference) Tournament Championship, and finished as the NCAA Division III National Championship runner-up. Over the next two seasons, her team won two more ODAC Conference Championships and advanced to the Elite Eight and Sweet Sixteen.
Salem graduated with an impressive 57-3 career record and earned multiple First-Team All-Conference and All-Tournament honors, including Tournament MVP. She was inducted into both her high school and college Hall of Fame in 2017 and 2022.
Boys Head Coach
BJ
IVEY
BJ Ivey is Director of Athletics and Head Boys Basketball Coach at Sarasota High School, with an extensive background in coaching and teaching. Previously, he served as the Director of Operations for men's basketball at Florida Gulf Coast University and as the head boys basketball coach at Riverview High School. Known for his transformative impact, Ivey's teams have compiled a record of 355-138. Ivey has mentored over 40 players who went on to compete at the Division 1 level through Nike Team Florida and Adidas Team Florida. Beyond athletics, Ivey has been recognized for his dedication to education, earning Sarasota County Teacher of the Year and the prestigious Shine Award presented by Governor Rick Scott. In recognition of his enduring impact on students, staff, athletes, and peers, Coach Ivey was awarded the Ripple Effect Award by Sarasota County Schools in 2023.
