AVALANCHE

Teton Avalanche is a non-profit youth sports organization dedicated to developing athleticism and basketball fundamentals while promoting respect for the game. Based in Jackson Hole and a member of the AAU, our club offers opportunities for high school athletes across Western Wyoming and Eastern Idaho.

Girls Head Coach

TOM
HOLLAND

For over 20 years, Tom has dedicated his professional career towards creating positive growth experiences for kids. An award-winning educator, Tom has spent time as a high school history teacher and basketball coach, executive director of Teton Valley Ranch Camp, and as chief executive officer for the American Camp Association. Tom and his wife Catherine are the owners and directors of Wilderness Adventures which offers outdoor programming for kids all over the world. Known as an expert on the camp experience, Tom has spoken to national and international audiences about the importance of positive youth development, how to work with young adults, and the importance of getting kids outdoors. Tom and Catherine have four children, all of whom love the game of basketball.

IVEY

BJ Ivey is Director of Athletics at Sarasota High School, with an extensive background in coaching and teaching. Previously, he served as the Director of Operations for men's basketball at Florida Gulf Coast University and as the head boys basketball coach at Riverview High School. Known for his transformative impact, Ivey's teams have compiled a record of 327-135. Ivey has mentored over 40 players who went on to compete at the Division 1 level through Nike Team Florida and Adidas Team Florida. Beyond athletics, Ivey has been recognized for his dedication to education, earning Sarasota County Teacher of the Year and the prestigious Shine Award presented by Governor Rick Scott. In recognition of his enduring impact on students, staff, athletes, and peers, Coach Ivey was awarded the Ripple Effect Award by Sarasota County Schools in 2023.
